The problem is the 2004 15f and 2004 12F use different part number actuators (2004-15f #17172-0561/ 2004-12f #16172-3704). Oddly , the 2005 12F uses the same actuator as the 2004 15F. Does anyone know if these units are interchangeable? Second opinion] i have a 2007 kawasaki STX 12f. it will crank but it will not start. i am getting spark on cylinders 2 and 3 but not 1 and 4. i shaped the coil plugs to test the coils and i had spark on 1 and 4 but not 2 and 3. so the coils should be good. tested the RY wire in each plug that the coils connect to and they both have the right voltage according to the service manual. Feb 5, 2009 · There is a cheap pot metal piece that comes from the block and goes into a hose. The pot metal corrodes away and clogs the line completely. This is a problem with 03 - 05 12f and 15f's. Kawasaki has fixed the problem with the new ones without telling the owners of the problem in a recall.
